New speed limit on Highway 305 starts today

In its infinite wisdom, the Washington State Department of Transportation will be imposing new speed limits on drivers using Highway 305 between Poulsbo and the Bainbridge Island starting today.

Two stretches of 305 have been reduced from 55 MPH to 50 MPH.

No doubt this will make it easier for commuters to reach the ferry in the morning and it will enable you to get home more quickly. Right? What fun it will be to drive to the ferry, stuck behind one of the slowpokes on Bainbridge who thinks it is their duty to drive at least 10 miles below the speed limit, all the way down 305 until they make that turn onto Winslow!

Will WSDOT ever realize its is supposed to IMPROVE traffic conditions and not to slow us down? I wonder if there's any chance they will get rid of those idiotic HOV lanes in Poulsbo. Don't count on it.
